Abandonment to Divine Providence VII

  1. Selected quotes
  2. Pg 13 See marks The Work of our Sanctification[1]
  3. They, (the faithful), would only have to fulfill the simple duties of Christianity and of their state in life; to embrace with submission the crosses belonging to that state, and to submit with faith and love to the designs of Providence in all those things that have to be done or suffered without going out of their way to seek occasions for themselves.[2]

Caveat, suffering that can be mitigated ought to be. This isn’t stoicism. Responsibility on the part of the reader to know what the simple duties of Christianity are. Formation has been so poor for so long that this is not necessarily known by the soul.

Sometimes, a person has to point out their accomplishments. Maybe on a resume or for an introduction to a talk. Again, discernment is key.

  1. The will of God is the salvation, health and life of the body and soul, no matter to what subject it is applied. … Whatever ideas may fill the mind, whatever feelings afflict the body; even if the mind be tormented with distractions and troubles, and the body with sickness and pain, nevertheless the divine will is ever for the present moment the life of the soul and of the body; in fact, neither the one or the other, no matter condition it may be, can be sustained by any other power.[3]

Weary of constant of knowledge found outside of self. Speaking to those marked with an indelible sign. God is waiting to be discovered within.

Baptism pivotal.
